Size ranges from dwarf weeping forms suitable to foundation plantings, like this one at the Madison Avenue Veteran’s sign, and other varieties will grow up to a Small Tree height of 25 feet (less than a house).

Summer leaf color is often purple, but can range from green to orange depending on the cultivar.  Autumn colors are spectacular reds and fiery oranges.

Look for our most mature Japanese Maple tree right next to the Corkscrew Willow in the Heritage Tree Section. Although this Japanese Maple will never become a large tree, it qualifies as Dumont Heritage Tree because it is estimated to be over 50 years old.

Did you know that the developers of Dumont in the 1950s and 1060s also planted many Japanese Maples as lawn trees?   Small Heritage trees need to be at least 50 years old and add market value to a house.
