GARDENING:

We have Knock-out Roses, and a host of flowering bulbs in a succession from spring to fall.

The arboretum is home to butterfly and wildlife friendly plants.

Our garden is a Bergen County Audubon Society Certified Wildlife Garden.

The Garden Committee is an all-volunteer group who plant, build features, and care for the 11+ garden beds along the Arboretum Pathway.

Spring Activities include annual mulching and bed clean out in our 11+ beds.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

The Friends of the Shade Tree Scholarship Committee sponsors a Wreathmaking event in December. In the spring, the committee awards a scholarship to one or more deserving Dumont High School Seniors. The students apply through the DHS Guidance Department. After consideration by the Scholarship Committee, one or more students are presented with their award based on merit.
