In China, where it currently grows naturally, it’s leaves make a popular tea with a reputation for improving health. Ginkgo is also sold as a supplement here in the US vitamin trade. Our arboretum Ginkgo is just a juvenile now, but will be 100′ tall when full grown in about 20 years. Today all over the world, Ginkgo is growing in parks and along roadways. It is a proven winner in urban environments, but give it clear lawn space 10′ x 10′ minimum if you want one!
Look for our Ginkgo near the Gazebo.
The Dumont Shade Tree Commission has approved the Ginkgo (L) Tree for the Adopt-A-Tree Program. To Apply for an Adopt-A-Tree, contact Borough Hall, or Click Here.
