Arbor Day 2015 was celebrated at the Dumont Arboretum on April 25th. Our elected officials were on hand to join the celebration. The day began with Boy Scout Troop 64 raising the flag and lead- ing the town in a flag salute. Our National Anthem was sung by Emily Waver. Rebecca Slaman provided Sign Language interpretation. Arbor Day Events included the unveiling of many additional bricks to the Arboretum Walkway. The DSTC planted a Heritage Birch; all in attendance helped! Judges had a challenge selecting the winners of the Art Contest and all participants received a beautiful gift bag. The 2015 Award of Merit was presented to Carolyn Blowers and the Dixon Homestead Library. Kathryn McGrath accepted the award on behalf of the Library.
