On June 8th, at the Dumont High School Senior awards ceremony, the Friends of the Shade Tree were honored to present the first annual Friends of the Shade Tree Scholarship award to Dalas Musse and Frank Scalo. They shared the award as both applications were excellent. The Friends of the Shade Tree grants the scholarship to a graduating senior from Dumont High School. This scholarship fund was established for the purpose of fostering education or contributions related to shade trees. Applicant must be accepted to an eligible institution as a candidate for degree, or be pursuing a career, in forestry, agriculture, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, earth sciences, biology, botany or any other field of study related to shade trees. Current seniors can apply through the Dumont High School guidance department. We look forward to our 2017 graduating class applicants and winner!
